Hi there! I'm Chelsea, the artist behind the brush at Elkington Studio.

My creative story begins at a young age watching my artist mother create beautiful horse portraits. My love for art and design grew over the years as I worked as her assistant faux painter in her decorative painting business while also working as a gallery specialist and visual merchandiser for two popular home and clothing stores.

After getting married and having our first child, I began painting at home full time and voila! Elkington Studio was born. Now with two sons, my husband and I recently moved from my home state of Texas to Northern Virginia and now to New Market, Maryland where I am continuing my creative journey in much cooler weather.

I share my middle name, Elkington, with many generations of family, many of whom are/were artists, engineers, silversmiths, musicians, and all around creatives. Therefore, I sign all of my artwork 'C. Elkington' to honor my roots and the artsy heritage I feel so blessed to be a part of. I've passed down my middle name to my own two children who are my main source of inspiration and motivation. I hope they will be inspired by their mama, just as I have been with mine.
